Fortran’s Traffic Controller Load Box is designed to provide simple and reliable test display for your traffic signal controllers. Featuring 60 high-intensity LEDs against a semi-gloss background, the Fortran Load Box can be seen from a distance and provides a clear representation of the current signal status.
Designed originally for the City of Toronto, the Fortran Load Box has proven itself as a reliable test fixture in signal shops all across the country. Being of light-weight design the units are easily hung on cabinet doors or under test benches. Unlike old test fixtures which housed banks of high power resistors, the Fortran Load Box employs a unique method of loading down the traffic cabinet without generating large amounts of excess heat.
All 60 high-intensity LEDs are enclosed in the load box fixture and covered by a Fresnel lens. This distributes the light output and increases the viewing range of the LEDs while also preventing “hot spots” that can be difficult to look at up close.
Each Load box comes with a 9 foot cable harness with individually grouped and hot-stamped wires indicating which indication and phase they represent. The Load box can also be wired with the cable entering from the left, right or bottom. A special mounting lip has been designed into the enclosure cover to allow the unit to be hung over the lip of most controller cabinet doors.
Each Load Box from Fortran is inspected by ESA; making this the only ESA inspected test fixture available.
