Fortran’s PXO controller cabinet is specially designed for pole mounting. The cabinet assembly provides a weatherproof enclosure designed to house the controller circuit board and all necessary wiring. This controller is designed as a simple, off the shelf, solution for any Pedestrian Crossover (PXO) location.
In early 2012, Fortran redesigned their PXO control system, as the result of many customer requests. The new system allowed for many more functions that were not available on previous or competing models. Since then, hundreds of units have been installed all across Canada with flawless operation.
Fortran’s PXO controller was redesigned with expansion in mind. To that end, the unit features several auxiliary outputs that allows for the support of custom applications such as integration with APS devices, additional signal control outputs, additional flashing beacons (with different patterns and flash rates available).
Fortran’s PXO controller uses the latest in microcontroller technology and was designed with a simple user interface to make it customer friendly. Each unit uses EEPROM and features 100 year memory retention without requiring any sort of battery back-up.
Each PXO controller board will support either LED or incandescent loads, and have been designed for new installations as well as being physically identical to all previous iterations. This allows older Fortran PXO locations to be upgraded simply and the entire cabinet assembly does not have to be changed out.
