Fortran’s disconnect cabinets are ideal for all of your hydro service needs. Designed in a compact enclosure, these cabinets do not take up a lot of real estate on the utility pole. Fortran’s disconnect cabinets are ideal for serving as a primary disconnect between the hydro utility and the traffic signal and street lighting branch circuits.
Over the years, many municipalities have successfully deployed Fortran’s disconnect cabinets with excellent results. Each assembly features a main 60 Amp double pole breaker, which feeds 4 sub-circuits. The rating of each sub circuit can be specified when placing an order. Each assembly also features a sand-filled surge protection device to prevent any line spikes from travelling to your branch circuits.
All live areas of the disconnect assembly are protected by lexan cover plates. These plates are transparent which allows the service person to complete a visual inspection while ensuring no contact can be accidentally made with live terminals.
Standard cabinet assemblies are supplied with a natural aluminum finish and two rear flanged brackets to allow for banding to any diameter utility pole. Custom finishes can be requested when ordering.
Each assembly features a standard police key on the main door. A neoprene gasket around the entire perimeter of the door ensures a weather-tight seal when the cabinet door is closed.
