Fortran has developed a variety of Polycarbonate Lenses to suit your specific requirements. Fortran Lenses have been installed on thousands of aluminum and polycarbonate traffic and pedestrian signals across North America. Our lenses are made up of hundreds of tiny prismatic lenses designed to maximize light output. They are strong and durable, manufactured out of a very tough, impact resistant, and UV stabilized polycarbonate. Fortran lenses have the word ‘TOP’ molded in for proper orientation of the lens for obtaining the required distribution of light. They are also molded with the lens size and the maximum lamp wattage. Fortran lenses are designed to withstand high temperatures under continuous operating conditions and have been tested to withstand severe weather and wind conditions when installed in Fortran signals. When installing a lens into a traffic or pedestrian signal, a neoprene gasket (sold separately) is required to prevent any dirt or moisture from entering. Prefer LED to lenses? Red, amber, green and various arrows/symbols are available to suit virtually every traffic indication. Portland orange hand and lunar white walking man are available for the pedestrian signal.
