The role of the Technical Project Lead is to provide advanced technical and process oriented skills / knowledge, supported by strong communication skills, in the development and support of mission critical systems.

The candidate's experience will include management and technical skills in the design and development of real-time engineering systems.

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTIONS:

The successful candidate will work within a team developing high performance and sustainable traffic control and management systems, focusing on reusable components, stable interfaces, and common libraries; analyze requirements and use appropriate technologies to produce component, subsystem, and application level designs. The work will include:

  • Architectural design,
  • Detailed design,
  • Unit-level code development and testing,
  • Hardware/software integration and test,
  • Document preparation and participation in design reviews and code inspections,
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution.

In addition, the successful candidate will:

  • Design and implement tools and drivers to confirm data consistency and verify the system functionality.
  • Preparation of application operational / procedural documentation for users and technical support staff.
  • Conduct / participate in design and code reviews, identify potential problems and performance issues, provide feedback and corrections, evaluate code compliance to standards.
  • Leadership and guidance of other development staff on various development assignments.
  • Act as a technical liaison with various other business and technical groups, support coordination of activities to achieve successful task completion targets.
  • Provide assistance to management in the identification, scoping, estimation, scheduling, monitoring and delivery.
  • Maintain an understanding of current computer technologies and industry related applications.

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, or applicable technical or scientific discipline and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in software development for engineering applications, with in-depth knowledge and experience in the following:

  • Extensive C/C++ programming experience,
  • Developing embedded real-time software,
  • Solid understanding of operating systems principles and communication protocols,
  • Team player with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills,
  • Experience with formal software engineering processes, including requirements management,
  • Independent, performance-driven individual with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with peers, experts and stakeholders.
  • Organized, focused and persistent - ability to work to the plan and meet delivery dates.
  • Able to communicate effectively within the Team, and have the ability to communicate complex ideas through written and verbal skills,
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple concurrent assignments.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong familiarity with hardware concepts,
  • Hardware integration and debugging experience,
  • Assembly language programming experience (ARM, Intel or other)
  • Knowledge of NTCIP.

Technical Sales Representative

We are currently looking for a Technical Sales Representative who will be responsible for growing sales to existing and new customers through effective prospecting, responsive customer service and knowledgeable technical support. The position is primarily an outside sales role with responsibility for a broad product portfolio of specialized equipment related to Traffic Control (ie. traffic signals, controllers, hardware).

The position will appeal to a customer-focused, entrepreneurial and competitive individual who enjoys being part of a team where one's contribution is valued and visible. Product training is provided.

The position includes all aspects of the sales cycle and offers room for long term career growth.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Active prospecting to increase the company's customer base
  • Increasing market share among the company's existing clientele.
  • Provide presentations to customers
  • Preparing quotations and following up on customer inquiries.
  • Developing proactive sales strategies and marketing campaigns.
  • Must be able to travel.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND CAPABILITIES:

  • Technical aptitude for mechanical and/or electronic equipment.
  • College diploma in a related discipline (or equivalent experience)

Based in Toronto, the role of the System Architect is to provide high-level design and structure that defines a framework for the system.

The candidate's experience will include management and technical skills in the specification, design, development, and support of real-time, mission critical systems.

  • Interfacing with internal and external stakeholders in order to determine their needs.
  • Document (high level/consistent,/complete) system requirements, based on the needs, cost and schedule.
  • Develop and maintain "Software Architecture".
  • Provide tehnical leadership.
  • Participate in design reviews,
  • Troubleshooting and problem resolution.

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

The successful candidate will work within a team to develop new products. The work will include:

  • Translating Requirements into a Design Specification for the module,
  • Produce a Detailed Design including Schematic Capture, FPGA/PLD implementation, Circuit Board Layout, List of Materials, and Support documentation,
  • Hardware Prototyping, Troubleshooting, and Unit Verification Testing,
  • Integration Testing, and
  • Reviewing Designs of other team members.

CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

A University degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-10 years of relevant experience. in-depth knowledge and capabilities in the following areas:

  • Digital Hardware Development for Embedded PC/104 ARM Processor,
