Software Engineer

Our team specializes in the design, development and manufacture of real-time, mission critical traffic management and control systems. We are currently expanding and are looking for talented and innovative professionals.
The role of the Software Engineer is to develop mission critical software solutions for the next-generation of management and control system products designed and produced by Fortran.
The candidate's experience will include management and technical skills in the design and development of real-time engineering systems.


The successful candidate will work within a team developing high performance and sustainable traffic control and management systems, focusing on reusable components, stable interfaces, common libraries and use of appropriate technologies to produce component, subsystem, and application level designs. The work will include:

  • Detailed design, unit-level code development, software integration and testing
  • Conduct / participate in design and code reviews, identify potential problems and performance issues, provide feedback and corrections, evaluate code compliance to standards
  • Analyzing complex functions, procedures, and problems to deliver creative, logical, and effective solutions that meets the specified requirements
  • Preparation of application operational / procedural documentation for users and technical support staff


Extensive experience and in-depth knowledge in the following areas:

  • C/C++ programming within a Linux (or Unix) environment
  • Object-oriented design and programming principles
  • Operating systems principles and communication protocols
  • Formal software engineering processes, including requirements management
  • Team player with excellent problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Independent, performance-driven individual with the ability to work independently and in collaboration with peers, experts and stakeholders
  • Organized, focused and persistent - ability to work to the plan and meet delivery dates
  • Able to communicate effectively within the Team, and have the ability to communicate complex ideas through written and verbal skills


  • Licensed by PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario)
