Model COM2225

Digital signal regeneration
Signal conditioning permits using lower cost channels
Integrated communication test facility
Automatic bypass operation maintains communication network connectivity in cases of power outage or other failures
Informative indicators (Bypass/Normal Mode, Data, DCD)
-34°C to +74°C temperature range
Standalone version with RS-232 interface available

This RCU Series communication module was developed to meet customer requests for reducing communication costs in instances where a multidrop topology was desired; however, limited circuit bridging was available and signal regeneration was necessary.

A typical application occurs in 2-wire multidrop configurations when signal degradation is excessive due to long line lengths or multiple telephone exchanges. In these instances, a COM2222/COM2225 module can be used to regenerate the signal and provide bridging to downstream stations. During failure or malfunction conditions, the integrated bypass feature maintains communications.

The number of stations on a primary communication channel is protocol dependent.

The standalone model provides similar capabilities to third party devices, such that they can co-exist within the network.
