This RCU Series communication module was developed to meet customer requests for a cost effective communication system.
When installed in a master unit, COM1822 provides communication for up to 8 stations on a single primary channel through the multiplexing of 7 point-to-point channels between the master and slave units (master channel is local).
Use of this card removes the requirement for extended bridging, in addition to allowing private and leased lines to be intermixed.
