The Remote Control and Communication Unit (RCCU) is designed to provide once per second communications and control of intersection controllers within a Computerized Traffic Signal Control System such as the Fortran Traffic Systems Limited T2000C/Fastracs or Siemens Traffic Controls Limited UTC/SCOOT systems.
Utilizing various I/O modules and cabinet interface kits, RCCUs are successfully controlling over 20 types of controllers ranging from electromechanical to 170 to NEMA TS 2 Type 1. A variety of chassis sizes support configurations based on current modules with expansion slots for future growth.
The Time Base Coordination option includes uploading and downloading of timing plans and logs, thus allowing on-street coordination to be maintained if the central system is not communicating with the RCCU.
The RCU Series models are designed with informative user interfaces to improve usability and facilitate field diagnostics. PC interface programs are also available to assist with monitoring operation in the field.
